AI Workflow Builder will automatically connect to your monday.com workspace using the authorization from step 2. No additional setup is needed.

Part 2 — Creating Your First Automation

1

Open the Builder

From the AI Workflow Builder app, navigate to the Builder tab. You'll see a chat-style interface ready to receive your automation request.

2

Describe What You Want

Type your automation in plain English. Be as specific as you like. Examples:

  • "When status changes to Done, move the item to the Completed group"
  • "When a new item is created on the Sales board, notify Alex"
  • "When Priority changes to High, create a linked item in the Urgent Tasks board"

3

Answer Clarifying Questions

AI Workflow Builder's setup wizard may ask you a few questions to resolve ambiguities — like which board to use, which column to watch, or which user to notify. Select from the provided options or type your answers.

4

Select Your Workspace and Board

If your account has multiple workspaces or boards, you'll be prompted to select the source board (where the trigger fires) and any target board (for cross-board actions). Use the dropdowns that appear in the chat.

5

Test Run (Optional but Recommended)

Before going live, click Test Run. AI Workflow Builder will execute the automation logic against a real item you specify, so you can verify it behaves exactly as expected.

6

Install the Automation

Click Install Automation. AI Workflow Builder registers a webhook with monday.com and your automation is now live. From this point, it runs automatically — no AI involved at runtime.

3

Pause or Resume

Need to temporarily disable an automation without deleting it? Click Pause. The automation will stop executing but remain configured. Click Resume to re-enable it.

4

View Execution Logs

Open the Admin tab to see a full history of every automation run — including timestamp, automation name, status (Success / Failed / Skipped), and details about what happened.
